It’s a story told time and time again in San Francisco, now happening to lawmakers as they’re trying to address it.
San Francisco Supervisor Ahsha Safai tweeted Thursday that the incident happened while he was at City Hall, ironically, for a hearing to review the rise of shoplifting and theft in the city, specifically at stores like CVS and Walgreens.
"We cannot just turn a blind eye," Safai said.
The supervisor’s car was apparently parked right in front of City Hall.
"Theft and burglary in this City has been emboldened and rampant - no one is immune to this issue," he said.
It happened just a week after a similar incident, where a KPIX-5 reporter was robbed at gunpoint while on a shoot for a story about a rise in car break-ins.
