SAN DIEGO, Calif. (KNX) – Seven people were hospitalized following a house fire in San Diego Sunday morning, according to fire officials.
The San Diego-Fire Rescue responded to a residence on Malcolm Drive around 6 a.m.
Firefighters cut off window bars until they found people inside on the rooms, according to NBC San Diego.
"One of my firefighters said that a family member reached out through that window and grabbed him by the arm," San Diego Fire Department Battalion Chief Mike McBride told the station.
The fire was knocked down at 6:57 a.m.
The five adults and two children inside the house were taken to a nearby hospital.
