Some Senators will introduce a resolution that calls on making every device and machine in homes and businesses electric.
The goal is to fight climate change by getting away from gas ranges, furnaces and cars that use fossil fuels.
California Democrat Alex Padilla says this will help create millions of good-paying jobs.
"We must end our reliance on fossil fuels sooner than later. We must act with urgency to de-carbonize our economy if we are to prevent the worst impacts of our changing climate," Padilla says.
The Senators say this plan will require upgrades to the electrical grid so 100 percent of electricity comes from renewable sources by 2035.
Critics say switching to renewable sources can be very expensive if it's done quickly.
