Former Sen. Barbara Boxer says she's shaken -- but otherwise fine -- after being attacked and robbed while walking near her home in Oakland. The attack happened near Jack London Square.

Boxer said a man jumped out of his car and ran straight toward her on the sidewalk.

“He came behind me, pushed me hard. Then, before I could fall, he grabbed my phone.”

Boxer said the driver -- and an accomplice -- sped off.

“I said to them after this, ‘Why would you do this to a grandma?’ I was yelling at the kid as he was running with my phone,” she added.

Boxer said she's never felt unsafe in her neighborhood before, which made the attack even more shocking.

Oakland police are offering a $2,000 reward for information on the attack.
