
A 28-year-old man was hospitalized and his wife arrested after he was shot in the leg at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park on Sunday afternoon.
According to the San Diego Police Department, officers received a call about a shooting at the Escondido park shortly before 5 p.m.

Upon arriving on the scene, officers learned that a husband and wife had been arguing in the parking lot when the woman shot her husband in the left knee.
The wife, 30 years old, made the call to police and was detained at the park for questioning. Her husband was transported to an area hospital for treatment of a through-and-through gunshot wound to the upper part of his left knee.
The woman was ultimately arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
San Diego police have not released the identities of those involved. Domestic violence investigators have been called in to assess the case.
