CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KNX) – A woman was arrested Saturday in connection to the death of her aunt in Chula Vista police said.

Chula Vista Police said they went to 52-year-old Leticia Hernandez’s house on Friday after family members told police they had not heard from her in 24 hours.

Police found her dead body under a pile of clothes in her bedroom with minor injuries on her face, according to a press release.

During an investigation, police determined Hernandez’s niece, identified as 32-year-old Elizabeth Memea, got into an argument with her aunt over cleaning the house. Memea then attacked Hernandez before choking her death.

Memea was booked into the Las Colinas Detention Facility for murder.

Police said the investigation is still on going at this time.
