SAN DIEGO (KNX) — The San Diego County Board of Supervisors was treated to an unexpected performance during a Tuesday meeting. The board was considering whether to support an extension to a local health-emergency declaration to address the COVID-19 pandemic.
Wearing a red and white Santa hat, a woman who only identified herself as “Bridgette” approached the microphone during the meeting’s public comments portion.
She urged supervisors to “end this emergency,” before breaking into song.
"I don't want a lot for Christmas, just body autonomy," she crooned.
The variation on Mariah Carey’s popular holiday tune “All I Want For Christmas Is You” featured rewritten lyrics to reflect the woman’s opposition to vaccine mandates and other COVID-19 health and safety protocols.
“Ivermectin, not just horse paste, and hydroxychloroquine, vitamin C and vitamin D,” she sang, name-dropping a number of proposed alternatives to COVID-19 vaccines which the U.S. Food and Drug Administration have cautioned as not adequately effective treatments. “I won’t wear a useless mask, I don’t need to stay at home, and my kids should go to school … I just want my freedom now, the Constitution will show us how. Make my dreams come true … end the emergency.”
