Veteran-owned Semper Solaris, a solar & roofing company, is proud to support veterans with their Semper Cares Initiative, to help deserving Veterans get relief from high energy prices! The Semper Cares Initiative was founded to help deserving veterans get relief from high electricity prices by blessing them with energy independence and the security of a secure roof over their head.

In celebration of Independence Day, Semper Solaris rewarded one of our nation’s Veterans with a new Panasonic HIT solar system installed by Semper Solaris!  Semper Solaris is honored to announce that Los Angeles resident, Sergeant Michael Gallardo, is the recipient of a brand new solar system in honor of his service.

Michael Gallardo, born and raised in Los Angeles, gave up a career in baseball to join the military. He felt as though it was a calling from the signs all around. The signs were 9/11, which is now known as the day of service and remembrance but is also Sergeant Gallardo's birthday. Serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Sergeant Gallardo was severely injured when the Humvee in which he was riding, in a split second decision, intentionally ran over an IED to protect other soldiers on the ground.  The ensuing explosion and vehicle damage led to serious injury to Sergeant Gallardo’s left leg.

After months of attempts to save his lower left leg without success,  Sergeant Gallardo was rendered a below-the-knee amputee but has not let that stop him from moving forward in life. He was awarded a Purple Heart.
