14-Year-Old Charged With Murder After Prank Goes Wrong

HOUSTON (KRLD) - A 14- year-old has been charged with murder after a deadly crash in the Houston area, this week.

Harris County deputies say three teens were in an SUV throwing eggs at other cars when one driver began chasing the teen's SUV and reportedly pulled out a handgun.

Investigators say the 14-year-old driver ran a red light and hit a truck. That driver, Silvia Zavala, died at the scene.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez tweeted that the 14-year-old driver was being charged with Zavala's murder and is in the county juvenile detention center.

The teen suffered a broken ankle in the crash.

Police say the driver of the vehicle that was chasing the teen has been identified and efforts are being made to interview him.
