The defense claims Guyger mistakenly walked into the wrong apartment one floor above her own after finishing a 13-hour patrol shift.
But prosecutors told the jury Guyger should have noticed Jean's red doormat outside his apartment and should never have entered.
Defense attorneys say Guyger was on "mental autopilot" that night and not paying attention to the floor she was on.
They told the jury Guyger will testify during the trial.
