DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - UPDATE 2:04 p.m.: The Dallas Police Department Dive team, Texas Parks and Wildlife and Grand Prairie Detectives continued the search for Weltzin Garcia and Alfonso Hernandez at White Rock Lake today.

During the search, members of the DPD Dive Team located and recovered a deceased male in the water. Grand Prairie Police have joined Dallas PD on scene to assist. Grand Prairie police said the male was identified as Alfonso Hernandez.


Hernandez was transported to the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office to determine the cause of death. Hernandez and Garzia were last seen earlier this month and their car was found abandoned at White Rock.

Officials at the scene said the couple's next of kin were being notified. 

UPDATE 12:56 p.m.: Dallas Fire and Rescue now confirm they have found a body in White Rock Lake this morning after a passerby reported seeing it.

The discovery of the body raises questions of any relation to the case of a missing Grand Prairie couple Alfonso Hernandez and Weltzin Garzia, last seen earlier this month, whose car was found abandoned at White Rock.

Grand Prairie Police have joined Dallas PD on scene to assist. Identification of the body is pending examination by the medical examiner. Officials at the scene say next of kin of the missing couple are being notified. 

UPDATE 11:48 a.m.: Dallas Fire Rescue officials confirm their rescue boat capsized during search. Crew members expected to be fine.

A body was found in the White Rock Lake in Dallas Sunday morning, Dallas officials said.

Dallas Fire-Rescue crews responded to 8000 Garland Road about 9 a.m., fire officials said.

One Body was recovered and the search is ongoing for more information.
