The Renegades are one of eight XFL teams that announced their identities.
The league comes on the heels of the ill-fated Alliance of American Football, which folded in the middle of its inagural season. Former Dallas Cowboys fullback Daryl Johnston was involved with the San Antonio Commanders, now he's the Director of Player Personnel for the Renegades. He's seen an uptick in talent level of those players interested in the XFL.
"I think the XFL personnel department did a great job of engaging the 2019 class," said Johnston. "I feel very confident that the player pool that we had going into NFL cut down is superior to what we had last summer."
Team President Grady Raskin said the next big hurdle is getting Globe Life Park retrofitted and branded as a football stadium once the Texas Rangers wrap up their final season in the facility. Then it's time to get down to business and bring season ticket holders on board.
