FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - We're getting our first look at what the scoreboard will look like at the new Dickeys Arena in Fort Worth.

"This will be the second-largest continuous video display in the United States," says Alisa Cunningham, Dickeys Arena's director of marketing. "When you're looking at our center-hung, we could create an entire image that's 180 feet around the full circumference of the board."

The scoreboard is being designed by ANC, based near New York City, which has also designed scoreboards for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Notre Dame football, among others.

It measures more than 25 feet high and almost 38 feet wide, and to say that it's quite heavy is a mild understatement.

"It's 12 times more than the weight of a Chevrolet Silverado," says Cunningham.

Dickeys Arena will also include a pair of ribbon boards along the seating bowl.

"(We'll have) one continuous ribbon on the upper level," says Cunningham; "and then on the lower level, we'll have two long ribbons that go on the east and west sides."

The 14,000-seat Dickeys Arena is scheduled to open in November.
