DUNCANVILLE (KRLD) - Officers from the Duncanville Police Department shot and wounded a suspect Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities said officers were checking out a call on a suspicious person at a location in the 600 block of N. Clark Road. After locating the suspect, police tried to approach the man, but he refused to comply and told officers he had warrants and would not be going to jail.
As police continued to talk to the suspect, the situation escalated. Duncanville PD spokesman Doug Sisk said, "The suspicious person began reaching for something in a duffle bag. After making aggressive movements with his hand in the bag, Duncanville police officers discharged their weapons and struck the suspect."
After officers administered first aid to the suspect at the scene, he was transported to a Dallas hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening. No officers were hurt.
The Dallas County Sheriff's Department is handling the investigation of the incident.
