DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - The water has fallen dramatically at White Rock Lake over the past week or so. But, now, emergency repairs are in place.
Almost everyone at the lake has noticed it but there have been differing opinions as to why. Some thought it was routine maintenance. Dallas Water Utilities believed it was simply due to the fact we haven't had much rain lately.
But now, it turns out, the White Rock Spillway is missing Spill Logs from one of its openings.
Spill Logs are wooden beams across the openings that regulate the water levels.
Yesterday, workman climbed the Spillway and installed three new Spill Logs to dam up the opening.
Tthe city is going to start some major repairs at the Spillway this coming winter, according to reports.
