DESOTO (1080 KRLD) - A father shot his son tonight in what DeSoto police say appears to be a non-lethal accident.
Officers responded to a call around 6 p.m. about an accidental shooting in the 1400 block of Carriage Creek Drive. The caller, who identified himself as an off-duty Dallas police officer, told 911 that he thought his adult son was an intruder and shot him by accident in their home.
The injured man was taken to the hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his forearm.
No arrests have been made at this time and police are launching an investigation into the circumstances that led to the shooting. The identity of the Dallas Officer and his son have not been released.
