WEATHERFORD (1080 KRLD) - A group of hunters found human remains in Weatherford over the weekend, and investigators are working to identify them.

"We've got a whodunit on our hands because we have no idea who this is or where they came from," says Parker Co. Sheriff Larry Fowler.

The hunters found the remains on Ragle Rd. in Weatherford at around 10:30 Saturday morning.

They were scattered in about a 50-yard radius, and Sheriff Fowler says the remains have been there for quite some time.

"They think it's been there something like nine months to a year and a half, two years, something like that," says Sheriff Fowler.

The Tarrant Co. Medical Examiner's Office expert forensic anthropologist is working to identify the remains.

"They described it examining the bones as a Hispanic female, probably late 20s to her 30s, four-foot-six to five-foot-three," says Sheriff Fowler.

An article of clothing was also found at the scene.

"An interesting thing that we found with it was a sash off of a terrycloth bathrobe, and I would describe it as a hot pink color," Sheriff Fowler says.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Parker County Sheriff's Office at 817-594-8845 or the Parker County Crime Stoppers Hotline at 817-599-5555.
