DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - A Dallas County judge today refused to lower bond for the Richardson woman accused of child abandonment in the death of her 3-year-old.

Sini Mathews will remain in jail on $100,000 bond. Her lawyers argued the bond is excessive for a charge of child abandomnent, but prosecutors say it's fair considering the girl was murdered in October of 2017.

Defense attorney Phil Parker said he wanted to call witnesses, but says the family is being intimidated by the Government of India.

"They're being intimidated by the powers to be. The powers to be being the Indian government." Parker said. He said the government has revoked visas and threatened duel citizenship over the case.

Mathews husband Wesley faces a capital murder charge.

Both are to be tried together, although State District Court Judge Amber Davis-Givens will listen to arguments for separate trials February 4.
