DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - A Dallas County grand jury indicted a Lewisville man for a shooting that involved a star football player from DeSoto.
Police say 18-year-old Kenaijae Anderson had been a classmate of Leroy Hawkins III when he killed him in a downtown Dallas shooting, June 4, 2019.
Both men had just graduated days earlier.
At the time he was gunned-down Hawkins was a star athlete, having been a center on the DeSoto state championship football team. He won a full-ride scholarship from Jackson State University.
Hawkins was killed while leaving a party in downtown Dallas. He was shot while in the passenger seat of a car.
Police say the two had an ongoing feud and that they had fought in the past.
