FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - The man charged with kidnapping an eight year old girl in Fort Worth last month will be arraigned in federal court Wednesday morning.
Michael Webb, 51, is scheduled to plead guilty when he appears before a magistrate.
Fort Worth police say Webb kidnapped the girl May 18 while she was walking with her mother in the Ryan Place neighborhood. A group of people found his car parked at a hotel, and police rescued the girl several hours later.
Prosecutors filed federal charges because they say Webb used his cell phone, the internet and interstate highways during the kidnapping. In addition to federal charges, Webb faces several state charges connected to the case.
Webb could be sentenced to 20 years to life in prison. If he is ever released, he would have to register as a sex offender and go through five years of supervised release.
Webb could also be fined up to $250,000.
