GRAND PRAIRIE (1080 KRLD) - A Grand Prairie man is dead after competing in a Camp Gladiator event.
The event was being held at Mansfield High School when 46-year-old Ricardo Hernandez, who had participated in several Camp Gladiator events before, collapsed.
He was rushed to the hospital were he died. The medical examiner listed the cause of death as heart disease with a blockage of his right coronary artery.
Family and friends took to Facebook to remember the man who they said would leave behind a void that would be hard to fill. His sister says the family needs prayers and that her brother was not suppose to go so young.
Camp Gladiator sent out a post on Facebook sending their condolences to Hernandez's family saying they were deeply saddened by the loss of one of their own.
A Go Fund Me page has been set up, which has already raised over $10,000 dollars for the family and funeral arrangements.
