MCKINNEY (1080 KRLD) - A 16-year-old is dead after McKinney firefighters recovered his body from a golf course pond.
This happened at the Stonebridge Ranch county club, near Highway 75 and Highway 380.
Around 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, McKinney firefighters say the teen and several friends were swimming in the golf course pond. The teen started to struggle and went underwater. His body was recovered, but he hasn't been identified yet.
So far this summer, there have been five reported drownings of kids in North Texas.
There have been 45 reported child drownings across the state.
