DALLAS (KRLD) - Dallas County Medical Examiners have ruled the deaths of a pastor, his wife, and two daughters as a murder-suicide after a fire broke out in their home in Cedar Hill.
In February, fire crews worked feverishly to put out a house fire on Lavern Street. Inside they found the bodies of Pastor Eugene Keahey; his wife, Deanna Keahey; and their 15-year-old daughter.
Their 17-year-old daughter was taken to the hospital but died in April.
Friday, medical examiners ruled that Eugene Keahey's death was a suicide due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The deaths of his daughters were due to thermal burns and smoke inhalation. Their deaths were ruled homicides. The cause of death for his wife has not been determined
Eugene Keahey was a pastor at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Sandbranch.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
