GARLAND (1080 KRLD) - The Garland Health Department has confirmed that a mosquito trap in the 2000 block of Holford Road has tested positive for West Nile Virus.
This is the fifth laboratory-confirmed presence of West Nile Virus in mosquitoes in Garland in 2019.
Garland officials say they will immediately initiate adulticide spraying throughout the surrounding area on the nights of July 25 and July 26, weather permitting. Spraying will be conducted between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
So far, no human cases of West Nile have been confirmed in the City of Garland. Residents are urged to take preventative measures.
