BENBROOK (1080 KRLD) - An elderly woman and her adult son are dead following a massive house fire near Benbrook Lake Friday.
Firefighters were called to the two-story house on Bear Creek Drive East just before 4:00 am.
By the time firefighters arrived, the house was fully engulfed in flames.
Tarrant County Fire Marshal Randy Renois says crews " tried to do rescues, but could not enter the structure."
Shortly before 10:00, after firefighters put out the fire, they found the two bodies inside.
The cause of the fire is unknown, and Renois says investigators may never know the specific cause.
It's also unclear whether the house had any working smoke detectors.
