The man behind Samuel Adams Beer is giving back.

Boston Beer Company Founder/Brewer Jim Koch, in conjunction with The Greg Hill Foundation, is providing $1,000 grants to restaurant employees who are out of work as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Furloughed employees in 20 states, including Texas, are eligible for the payments, which are distributed through the Restaurant Strong Fund.

So far, the fund has helped hundreds of applicants.

Koch said the grants offer quick help when it's needed most. The deadline to apply at restaurantstrong.org is April 30th.

Donations are also accepted, and Koch said the program could be extended to help more furloughed restaurant workers.

We’re excited to announce that we’re expanding our Restaurant Strong Fund to 19 more states around the country. THANK YOU to everyone who has already helped or donated. Together, we can support those in the restaurant industry who have been so impacted by closures. pic.twitter.com/FVj4kgN27A
