DALLAS (KRLD/NBCDFW) - Two people are in critical condition after they were shot outside a business in an industrial park near downtown Dallas Thursday afternoon, officials say.
Dallas police Sgt. Warren Mitchell said officers were called to 5151 Mercantile Row, Showtech Productions, on a report of an armed encounter.
When an officer arrived, witnesses told him that a known, 37-year-old man came to the business and argued with two employees. The argument moved outside where the man pulled out a weapon and shot the other two men multiple times. According to witnesses the argument between the men may have had to do with a trip the gunman wasn't invited on.
Mitchell said an employee of the business, who had a gun, then came outside and began shooting at the gunman who then got into a dark-colored or blue Subaru sedan and drove away. It is not known if the gunman was injured in the exchange of gunfire.
Police say shooter remains at large but the public isn't in danger.
