AUSTIN (1080 KRLD) - Since the middle of March when the strongest Coronavirus rules began, more than two-million Texans have applied for unemployment benefits as their jobs evaporated because of stay at home orders.

The Texas Workforce Commission says that number normally would represent three years' worth of claims.

So far, the state has paid nearly $3.5 Billion in unemployment benefits.
