DALLAS (KRLD) - New research shows three of the top 20 public high schools in the country are in Texas.
Two of them are in the Dallas school district. One is in the Houston school district. Anita Narayan with US News and World report says they researched more than 23,000 public high schools across the country.
She says, "The ratings are based on factors such as college readiness, reading and math proficiency, reading and math performance, underserved student performance and graduation rates."
The Science and Engineering Magnet School in the Dallas school district ranked 12th, The School for the Talented and Gifted which is also in Dallas ranked 16th, and the DeBakey High School for Health Professions in the Houston school district ranked 17th.
The number one ranked school in the country is in North Charleston, South Carolina.
