FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - Officials say 9 people were injured this morning when a massive fight broke out in a Fort Worth middle school.
Fort Worth ISD officials say the fight broke out around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Rosemont Middle School.
"Three to five students were arguing in a hallway of Rosemont Middle School this morning. A police officer attempted to intervene and a scuffle ensued" said a spokesman for the FWISD. "Additional staff assisted the police officer and a campus security guard. The fight was broken up quickly and all other students were secured in their classrooms as police conducted their investigation."
A spokesperson with Medstar says all of the injuries were minor and everyone was treated at the scene.
The fight prompted the school to go into temporary lockdown, which has since been lifted.
Five students are in police custody. Additional police security will remain at the school today.
