Texas Governor Greg Abbott's executive order is especially frustrating for bar owners, who now have to close their establishments for a second time.
Fred Barnett owns a pair of bars in the Fort Worth Stockyards, and he says it's disheartening to say the least. He says he will do what he can to support his employees.
Barnett says his bars were able to rebound from the first time they were shut down due to the pandemic; but he says if the shutdowns keep happening, he may not be as fortunate down the road.
Closing bars and limiting restaurant capacity is the latest move Governor Abbott has taken to help slow the spread of the coronavirus in Texas.
On Monday Governor Abbott said if the covid hospitalizations and positive test numbers continued to rise, additional measures would have to be taken. And for the second day in a row he's done just that.
The positive testing rate has doubled across Texas over the last two weeks, and more than 4,700 hospital beds in the state are being used by COVID patients.
