FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - Amazon will begin operations at its new regional air hub at Alliance Airport in Fort Worth next month. It will be the company's first built-to-suit project in the Amazon Air network.

Amazon is building its own air cargo service to speed up the delivery of packages to customers across the country.

The north Texas facility will be able to handle multiple flights each day and sort a large number of packages.

"We are excited to start flying to and from our new facility at the Fort Worth Alliance Airport very soon," said Sarah Rhoads, Vice President of Amazon Global Air. "This facility will allow us to offer even more selection and faster delivery to our customers."

Amazon expects the new facility to create about 300 jobs. They're holding a career day event in Dallas on September 17th for people who want to apply for those positions.
