FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - With air travel down 90 to 95 percent because of Coronavirus fears, airlines are increasingly turning to hauling cargo to make a little revenue.

American Airlines is now announcing it will double its cargo flights to about 140 per week.

About 100 will be cargo-only while the rest will carry passengers while making increasing use of the luggage holds that have plenty of room because there are so few passengers these days.

American also says it will increase cargo-only routes between DFW Airport and some major hubs of commerce like Beijing and Hong Kong.
