The pilots for Fort Worth-based American Airlines have a suggestion for the federal government.

The pilots want the feds to buy every middle seat on every flight of every US airline for two reasons.


One, it will help promote social distancing by letting passengers spread  out.

And two, it will be like a subsidy, helping keep the airlines afloat during the Coronavirus travel slowdown.

At current travel levels, economists figure it will cost taxpayers anywhere from $2 Billion to $4 Billion a month.
