FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - Beginning today, American Airlines is drastically cutting flights out of New York City which has become the center of Coronavirus infections in the United States.
American now says it will operate no more than 13 daily departures from the three major New York airports.
Two of those will connect LaGuardia and DFW Airport while there will be just one flight-a-day between Newark-and-DFW and JFK-and-DFW.
American's business in New York City has dwindled to almost nothing.
Last year at this time, the carrier was operating more than 270 daily flights. Sunday, American's busiest flight had just 27 passengers on a jet that carries more than 170.
