AUSTIN (1080 KRLD) - 67 year old Rodney Cook is charged with criminal mischief.
Austin firefighters say he's accused of setting a six foot statue of a grackle made partly by recycled bicycle tires on fire.
Investigators say the surveillance video of the act pointed them to Cook.
Christy Stallop is the artist who created the statue. She tweeted she was heartbroken over what happened.
Meantime, Cook is charged with a state felony and he could face anywhere from 180 days to two years in jail.
