Dr. John Carlo with Governor Abbott's Coronavirus Task Force says classroom settings are the most socially dense environments in our communities.   "It brings the most people together in the shortest amount of distance and it's exactly what we're trying to prevent in terms of social distancing strategy."Carlo adds to make matters worse, cold and flu season always seems to follow the start of school.  "Pretty soon we're going to have to deal a the flu season on top of the Coronavirus and all of the other symptoms and unravel all of that"He says we need a continuation of flu vaccines and hope for a covid vaccine soon.  "Ultimately we're going to have this dilemma with these very general symptoms and try to figure out is it flu? Is it strep?  Is it Covid? And then having to make decisions on how to test and rule those out and rule those in.  It's going to be a lot to think about."Carlo adds due to Covid, there's a disruption of medical visits.  "It is concerning we've gotten behind on our childhood immunizations and I don't want to see a measles or mumps outbreak on top of everything else."
