Carrollton Hit By Cyber Attack

CARROLLTON (KRLD) - The City of Carrollton is dealing with a cyber-attack on the city's computer network. The city's web site, e-mail system and some phone lines have been affected."911 has not been affected," said City of Carrollton Marketing Director Kelli Lewis. "Emergency services are up and running. If you have an emergency you can still call 911."The attack hit the city's computer network around 5 p.m. on Thursday morning. City employees are working to restore the services that have been affected as quickly as possible."We have called in state and federal experts to help with the investigation with the intent of prosecuting to the fullest extent of the law," Lewis said.Some city phone lines are still functional. Residents with non-emergency calls can use 972-466-3333. Other inquiries can be directed to 972-466-3000. Residents who need emergency services can still call 911.
