DALLAS (KRLD) - Dallas police were called to a home off Coston Drive in the Pleasant Grove area for a welfare check on three children.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, they found two of the three children asleep. The officers found the third child in a locked outdoor shed. It was pitch black and the child's hands were tied behind his back with shoestrings.

He told officers he was put in the shed when he was "bad" and given plastic bags to use the restroom in.

All three children are now in the custody of CPS.

53-year-old Esmeralda Lira and 64-year-old Jose Balderas were arrested. Lira is now facing a felony charge of abandoning or endangering a child with imminent danger of bodily injury.

Both are facing immigration holds with bonds set at $100,000 each.
