FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - A Fort Worth-based cleaning company makes a generous donation to the Fort Worth police and fire departments to keep everyone safe.
The Maid Brigade donated several hundred gallons of what it calls E-Water to the Fort Worth police and fire departments.
"It's salt, water, and electricity," says Keith Clem, who owns the Maid Brigade with his daughter, Megan. "But it's a little more complicated than that. It actually is hypochlorous acid. It's a product that kills pathogens on contact."
"It kills on contact," adds daughter Megan. "So once you spray it on there, it kills it, and it just helps fight in spread of any viruses and bacteria."
Fort Worth Police Chief Ed Kraus says the solution is very easy to apply onto surfaces in the vehicles and office spaces.
"You just pull the trigger (of the metal spray can), and it sprays out a very fine mist," says Chief Kraus. "It's not something you have to go back in and wipe up afterward. So it's very clean, very easy."
Fort Worth Fire Chief Jim Davis says especially with the COVID-19 pandemic continuing to grip the world, the product comes in very handy.
"We know this virus lives on surfaces for longer periods of time than were first thought of," says Chief Davis. "And so with the help and the assistance of folks like the Maid Brigade folks, we're able to clean and sanitize our stations and our vehicles after we return from runs."
"They're able to keep us safe so we can keep the citizens of Fort Worth safe, and we appreciate that partnership with them dearly," adds Chief Kraus.
