WAXAHACHIE (1080 KRLD) - County Commissioners have declared Ellis County to be a sanctuary for the unborn.
In a press release, the county says the resolution urges people to "promote and defend the unalienable right to life and the inherent dignity of all human beings including the pre-born from conception or fertilization through all stages of development."
While ten Texas towns have declared themselves sanctuaries for the unborn, Ellis is believed to be the first county to do so.
