In East Texas, the Winona school district apparently just became the first in Texas to appoint an official "emotional support Corgi."
The idea came from Winona Elementary Counselor Kristin Tillman. She is the owner of Gus the Corgi.
Tillman says, "I'm a big animal lover and my friend comes up with big out of the box ideas. He suggested Gug become an emotional support Corgi in the classrooms."
Technically, he's an employee of the school district but he doesn't get a paycheck.
In five weeks, he'll be an official therapy dog.
