Dallas County Reports 544 New COVID-19 Cases, 7 More Deaths

DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- The Dallas County Health Department is reporting 544 new COVID-19 cases and seven deaths for this Wednesday, July 1.

"Today's seven deaths include a woman in her 20s and a man in his 50s with no underlying health conditions, a somber reminder of the dangerous nature of COVID-19 on everyone," Jenkins said Wednesday.

The latest victims of coronavirus include Dallas residents: a woman in her 20s (with no underlying conditions), a woman in her 40s  (with underlying conditions), a man in his 50s (with no high-risk health conditions), a woman in her 60s (with underlying health conditions) found dead in her home, a woman in her 80s (with underlying health conditions.)

Additionally, a De Soto man in his 60s (with high-risk health conditions) and a Seagoville man in his 70s (with underlying health conditions) and a resident of a long-term care facility.

Today marks the fifth day with record-setting numbers reported in the county. 

The average number of new cases in the last 7 days is now that of 535 a day, up from an average of 209 a day back on June 1.

 In the last week, Dallas County has added 3,747 new cases of the virus.

Since June 1, Dallas County has reported 54 confirmed cases in children and staff from 26 separate daycare facilities.
