DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Dallas County Health officials reported Friday that 64 additional positive cases of 2019 novel coronavirus have been identified in the county.

The total COVID-19 case count in Dallas County now stands at 367.  Seven deaths have been reported to date.

Hospitalizations from COVID-19 are increasing, with 36% of all hospitalized patients requiring admission to intensive care units.

Of cases requiring hospitalization to date, about two-thirds (65%) have been either over 60 years of age or have had at least one known high-risk chronic health condition, according to county health officials.

"I'm so proud of the way North Texas is stepping up to this challenge. We will get through this together. Stay Home - Stay Safe," said Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins.
