DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Officials with the Dallas County Health department are reporting 89 new positive cases of coronavirus today.
"My heart goes out to their families & all who are suffering during this pandemic. Evidence continues to mount that the aggressive move to shelter in place on March 22nd is #FlatteningTheCurve here" said Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins.
Later today, DCHHS officials are expected to confirm at least 10 new deaths of people infected with COVID-19, including a "a lot of new illnesses," according to a statement made by Jenkins during an interview with The Texas Tribune's Patrick Svitek on Tuesday morning.
"I'll announce at least 10 deaths today, when we do our count of new cases and deaths," Jenkins said. "Every one of those is a person with a family, so that gives concern."
