DALLAS (KRLD) - Health officials in Dallas County say there has been a third presumptive positive coronavirus case. The patient had recently traveled out of state, and officials do not believe there has been any transmission of the virus within the community.

"It's a man in his 50's with an inside the United States travel history," said Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins. "This particular person happens to be an Irving resident." Officials are not saying exactly where in the U.S. the patient had been, but say it was at a "large congregant, recreational event".

Health officials have traced the patient's movements and have notified people who have been in close contact while they were in North Texas. They say this latest case is not an indication the virus has been spreading in the local community.

"The City of Irving is currently monitoring the COVID-19 situation and have been in close contact with State and County officials in regard to the current situation in our area.  We will continue to stay connected with public health officials and are prepared for the care and safety of our residents, businesses, and visitors," said Irving Mayor Rick Stopfer added.
