DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Officials at the corporate office The Home Depot confirm the north Dallas store that was damaged during the October tornado will be re-built.

The new store could be open this fall, according to reporrts.

The store near Hwy 75/Central Expressway and Forest Lane was closed and the manager had sent employees home early when an EF-3 tornado moved through north Dallas on the night of October 20th.

No one was hurt, but the store was severely damaged. It was just one of numerous north Dallas businesses and homes damaged by that storm system.

The Insurance Council of Texas has estimated the total of insured damages from the storm at $2 billion.

The City of Dallas is still waiting to hear back from federal officials about a possible Presidential Disaster Declaration.
