DALLAS (KRLD) - Dallas police have made an arrest in the murder of a 17-year-old from DeSoto.
Police say 18-year-old Kenaijae Keon Anderson is in jail for killing Leroy Hawkins.
Hawkins died early yesterday morning. Police say he and another man were in downtown Dallas, when they got into an argument with Anderson. Anderson pulled a gun and started shooting, and Hawkins was hit several times. He died at the hospital.
Hawkins had just graduated DeSoto High and was headed to college on a football scholarship. His family, friends and peers say they're devastated by the loss.
Anderson is now charged with murder and bond is set at $200,000.
