DALLAS (KRLD) - Dallas police say bedbugs have been found at two patrol stations and in some squad cars. Police say bedbugs were found in part of the Southeast Patrol Division in January.

They say an exterminator treated the area, but more bedbugs were found earlier this month. Dallas police emptied the building, and the entire building was fumigated.

The Dallas Police Association says additional bugs were then found in the Northeast Patrol Division and in several squad cars.

"We appreciate that the Dallas Police Department has taken this event seriously and has hired professionals to prevent any further occurrences. Hopefully, this quick action will limit the reduction in the availability of patrol vehicles being affected," the Dallas Police Association's Mike Mata wrote in a statement.

Dallas police say they are not sure the source of the bedbugs.
