DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - For the first time in its history, Dallas Pride will be completely virtual.

The celebration had to be rescheduled because of COVID-19, but originally the event’s organizers were holding out hope it could still happen in person.

"And as we all know, that did not work out," says Jaron Turnbow, Executive Director of Dallas Pride.

Now, the event is moving to this weekend, and it's going online.

"It's been an interesting process," Turnbow says. "Lots of new things to learn. It's a different world than we're used to."

Turnbow says the virtual event will feature many of the same attractions as the in-person event, including two DJs, a party Saturday night, a drag brunch on Sunday and a highlight reel of past Pride Parades.

Adapting was difficult but well worth it, Turnbow says, adding that this may be Dallas Pride’s most inclusive celebration yet.
